Why it helps
Smaller files, faster to send
Phone photos can be several megabytes each, which adds up quickly in an email, a chat or a shared album. Compressing them first means less waiting and less storage used. Smaller files also upload sooner when you make a video; the video is made from your photos either way. Create your growing-up video →
Questions
How much can I compress?
It depends on the photo. Phone photos often shrink to a quarter of their size at 80%, and limiting the longest side saves more. Each row shows the real result.
Is my data safe?
Your photos are processed by the browser on your own device. Nothing is sent to us, and closing the tab clears them.
Why only JPG and WebP?
Both formats are designed to shrink photos with a quality setting. PNG keeps every pixel, so it rarely gets much smaller.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Compression happens in your browser, and your photos stay on your device.
