Kids' Birthday: A Growing Up Video From Baby Photos

2 min read

Children change so fast that last year's photos already look like someone else. A growing up video shows that change in under a minute, and it is one of the nicest things to play at a child's birthday.

When to use it

  • First birthday: twelve months in twelve photos, one per month.
  • Birthdays from 3 to 10: one photo per birthday, so each year is a step.
  • A gift for grandparents who live far away.
  • A keepsake to watch together years later.

How many photos

Between 2 and 24 photos work, and each pair becomes a transition of about 5 seconds.

  • 5 photos (Starter plan, $4.90): newborn, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, today.
  • 8 photos suit a fifth or sixth birthday, with one for roughly every year.
  • 12 photos suit a first birthday told month by month.

Choosing the photos

Pick photos where the child looks toward the camera and the face is clear. Babies move a lot, so avoid photos that are blurred or where the face is hidden by a toy or a hand. If you are not sure which photos to use, read how to choose photos for a growing up video.

A note on privacy

Photos of children matter, so here is exactly what happens: your photos are used only to make your video, and they are deleted automatically 30 days after you create the project. Download the MP4 before then. See the privacy policy for details.

Make it

  1. Gather 2 to 24 photos of the person.
  2. Put them in order from youngest to oldest.
  3. Choose a plan and pay once. No subscription and no watermark.
  4. Download the MP4 and share it anywhere.

If one transition does not look right you can redo just that one (the Starter plan includes 2 redos, larger plans 3 to 5). Photos and videos are deleted automatically after 30 days, so download and keep your MP4.

Create your video before the next birthday, or look at the plans first.
