Graduation Video From Childhood Photos to Cap and Gown

2 min read

A graduation is the end of one chapter, and everyone in the room remembers the beginning. A growing up video puts both in the same minute: the kid on the first day of school becomes the graduate in the gown, smoothly, with no editing.

Where it fits

  • The graduation party, played while guests arrive or before the speeches.
  • A gift from parents, sent the morning of the ceremony.
  • A class or family group gift, where each person adds a photo from a different year.
  • Social media, as a short post for the day itself.

Photos to look for

Aim for one photo per stage of school: a baby or toddler photo, the first day of school, a primary school class photo, a teenage photo, and the graduation photo. Between 2 and 24 photos work. Each pair becomes a transition of about 5 seconds, so 8 photos give roughly 35 seconds.

  • 5 photos (Starter plan, $4.90) is enough for toddler, first day, middle school, high school, graduate.
  • 12 photos gives you a photo for nearly every school year.

Use clear photos of the same person where the face is easy to see. If you are not sure which photos to use, read how to choose photos for a growing up video.

A tip on order

Put the photos strictly from youngest to oldest. Graduation photos often come last, and a photo where the person is wearing a cap or a mask can hide the face, so choose one where the face is clear.

Make it

  1. Gather 2 to 24 photos of the person.
  2. Put them in order from youngest to oldest.
  3. Choose a plan and pay once. No subscription and no watermark.
  4. Download the MP4 and share it anywhere.

If one transition does not look right you can redo just that one (the Starter plan includes 2 redos, larger plans 3 to 5). Photos and videos are deleted automatically after 30 days, so download and keep your MP4.

Create your video for the next graduate, or look at the plans first.
